TexasTide has been on a different level lately, earning their sixth consecutive win when they beat Hawks 93.65 to 87.90. They got a lift from Matt Forte, who led the team with 25.60 points and Cam Newton who got 20.45. Going streaking usually draws attention to yourself, but not in positive way. Not in this case. Since starting their win streak in Week 4, TexasTide has moved from ninth place to second. They're doing it by scoring a lot of points and they own the third-highest overall point total in the league, averaging 108.62 points per matchup. If Hawks didn't have both Ed Dickson and the Kansas City Chiefs Defense put up zeros, it could have gone the other way. Hawks goes to 5-4 and falls to fourth place. TexasTide has not had a loss since Week 3 and goes to 7-2.

Smooth Moves by TexasTide

  • TexasTide is a winning name, which might be why you just won. Next step is figuring out if TexasTide is a Toyota Hall of Fame name.
  • Was smart to sit the Detroit Lions Defense this week, which had 8.00 points, the lowest DEF score on the team.
  • Matt Forte put the team on his back with 25.60 points, the second-highest score among RBs in the league this week.
  • The 17.00 points scored by Rishard Matthews outpaced his 11.19-point scoring projection by 51.9%.
  • Apparently playing within themselves was good enough. TexasTide won despite having only 4 of their 8 starters exceed their projected points.

Toyota Roster Tune-up

  • In Fantasy Football, you win some, you lose some. Not for Toyota Hall of Famers. They mostly just win. But still.
  • Left Marqise Lee on the bench, where he scored 21.50 points and surpassed his scoring projection by 80.1%, the highest percentage of any player on the team.
  • This is how people lose everything in casinos. Hawks thought their luck would change and went back to the well with Devonta Freeman. However, he scored 10.40 points against a projected 13.36 and has now underachieved in five straight games.
  • Hawks had 2 of their 8 starters score zero points.
  • Hawks had 5 of their 8 starters score less than their projected points.

What If

  • If TexasTide played Hawks every week, they'd be 4-5 this season.
  • Besides Hawks, TexasTide would have defeated seven other teams this week.
  • If they played the same schedule as Hawks, TexasTide would be 6-2.
  • TexasTide would be 82-53 if they played every team every week.
  • Besides TexasTide, Hawks would have been defeated by nine other teams this week.
  • And they say procrastination doesn't pay off! Had they played each other last week, TexasTide would have lost to Hawks 122.03 - 79.70.
  • Hawks would be 4-4 if they played the same schedule as TexasTide.
  • Hawks would be 80-55 if they played every team every week.

Game Notes

  • TexasTide is on the longest active win streak in the league, winning six straight games.
  • Cameron Brate had a season-low 1.90 points against a projected 11.25 in the win and has now scored below his projection in three straight games.
  • TexasTide was able to win with little help from C.J. Anderson, who had a season-low 1.30 points and is on a four-week underperforming streak.
  • TexasTide got 94.7% of their points from players they drafted.
  • TexasTide overachieved in the win, improving to 4-0 when beating their projected points this season, while Hawks falls to 2-3 when scoring below their projected points.
  • Todd Gurley II was a bright spot for Hawks in the loss with 24.40 points, the third-highest RB score in the league this week.
  • Hawks got the third-highest combined scoring output from the RB position for any team this week with 34.80 points.
  • Hawks did not reach their season average of 104.73 points this week, bringing in 87.90 points.
