Week 10 Preview

With nine weeks in the books, the playoff picture begins to become clearer.  There are still plenty of games left (5 regular season games) to go so teams have time to make up ground or lose position.  There are two more weeks of non-division games and then the 2nd round of division games begin.  Friday marks the trade deadline, so if a team is going to make any moves (via trade), they'd better get after it.  After Friday, the only way to improve a roster will be through the free agent market.  We all know how overly abundant the talent level is there.

On to this weeks previews...

AD (3-6, 955) Vs Dustin (5-4, 1006)

I lead the overall series 5-2.  Two devastating losses to Kurt (week 7) and Laron (last week) may have sunk the season, but there is still glimmering hope.  It'll take three straight wins just to get back to .500 and Dustin stands in the way.  He is the 4th highest scoring team (1006) and looks strong every week.  That being said, he is 1-3 his last four after winning four in a row.  Last week was a dud (he scored 62) and I hate playing teams after a dud, they usually come back with a huge week.  Yahoo has him favored (106-88) "Do what you do Mike Vick... Do what you do".

Thomas (1-8, 775) Vs Chad (5-4, 952)

Thomas is in free fall with no way to stop it.  Loser of 5 straight, it's pride from here on out.  The good news, only one ball in the lottery next August and, more than likely, the top pick in the draft.  There is a way to enjoy the rest of the season, and that's to knock people off, or out, of the playoff race. Chad got nutted on last week, losing (123-161), but that makes six weeks straight weeks he has scored 100+, going 4-2.  Yahoo has Chad favored (107-79)  Chad is going for career win #65 this week, good luck.

 Matt (5-4, 919) Vs Kurt (5-4, 780)

Kurt leads the overall series 2-1.  Matt has won 2 of his last 3, scoring 100+ all three weeks.  That's after not scoring 100+ for five weeks in a row.  Something has turned around. He has also moved up two spots in the Power Rankings, breaking into the top six.  He is not the only one on a hot streak, Kurt has won the last three weeks in a row, after losing three in a row.  So we have two 5-4 teams, that have looked good lately, facing off against each other this week.  The winner has got to like being 6-4, while the loser is back to .500.

Chavez (4-5, 920) Vs Pitch (4-5, 935)

Pitch leads the overall series 5-4, but Chavez won both match-ups last year.  Chavez is in a bit of an offensive funk the last two weeks, scoring 74 & 71.  Hard to believe, but true.  He is not the only one coming into this week on a slide, Pitch has lost his last three.  This is a big week for both.  There is a big difference between 5-5 and 4-6 with just four weeks left in the regular season.  Yahoo has Chavez favored (118-93)

Rick (5-4, 885) Vs Kyle (4-5, 1036)

Rick is 3-2 the last five weeks, the bad news, he is 0-2 the last two weeks.  He is currently leading the Texas division, but that division is going to be brutal down the stretch.  Rick has scored 100+ 5 times this year, won them all.  He has scored below 100 4 times, lost them all.  For him it's easy, just score 100+.  Kyle seems to be all or nothing.  76, 155, 75, 142, his last four weeks.  You can guess which ones he won and which ones he lost.  (Aaron Rodgers -3...hehehe) Yahoo has Kyle favored (91-86)

Cow (3-6, 832) Vs Bang (3-6, 764)

Cow leads the overall series 10-6, winning the last three.  Cow is another team on a bit of a hot streak, winning 3 of his last 4.  (Bowe has been a stud, you're welcome)  Bang is having one of those seasons.  He has broke 100+ just twice this year, weeks 2 & 8, both wins.  The rest of the season hasn't been that great.  To make things worse, Week 10 is the bye week for Drew Brees.  Not to pile on, but... damn.  It's going to be a tough week.

Jimmy (6-3, 1135) Vs Randy (7-2, 854)

GAME OF THE WEEK!!!  I'm looking forward to this one. We have the leagues highest scoring offense (1135) verses the leagues best defense (683).  How in the world is Jimmy 6-3 scoring 1135?  How in the world is Randy 7-2 scoring 854?  Who knows, but they are.  Jimmy is on a scoring spree, busting 100+ 7 weeks in a row (league best).  Randy is on a 5 game winning streak (league best) and hasn't had 100+ scored on him since week 3, the only time all year.  Should be noted, last week's win was career win #50 for Jimmy, congratulations.

Laron (7-2, 1017) Vs Rojo (5-4, 829)

After suffering back to back losses, Laron got back to his winning ways last week.  He has scored 100+ the last three weeks and looks strong again.  With a win this week, he might just be able to cruise into the playoffs.  Rojo has won the last two weeks and is looking for another win to keep him in his division race.  What is concerning, he has only scored 100+ once in the last four weeks.  Yahoo has Laron favored (105-91).
