Week 9 Preview

Week 9. We have two 6-2 teams, four 5-3 teams, five 4-4 teams, and everyone else scrambling to keep up. By no means is the race for the playoffs over, in truth, it's just getting started. With six regular season games (weeks) left, most everyone is still in the mix, even if it looks more daunting for some than others. Keep in mind, the trade deadline is less than 10 days from now. So for those hoping to make some last minute moves to improve their rosters, time is shortening.
On to the previews...

Dustin (5-3, 944) Vs Rojo (4-4, 746)
Dustin leads the overall series 7-4. Dustin remains strong. He has lost 2 of his last 3 but scored 98, 121, and 128. He has six 113+ games and two sub 100 (96, 98). He also just celebrated winning career win #50. Rojo has also lost 2 of his last 3 but he scored 55, 68, and 103. Rojo has been up and down all year. The lack of consistency has been an obvious problem. That being said, he is right there in the thick of his division race.
Bang (3-5, 699) Vs Kyle (3-5, 894)
WHOA BOY!!! It's Bang Bowl 2010!!! Kyle (little brother) leads Bang (big brother) 10-6-1 in the overall series. Winner is one game closer to .500, loser is all but dead at 3-6. Bang won last week ending a four game slide. He has only had two 100+ games (1 against me) all season, so scoring has been a problem. Brees has had a down year but is still great, it's depth that has been the problem. Kyle, on the other hand, can put 150 on you in a hurry. The problem has been consistency (much like Rojo). While Kyle is likely to score 150, he is just as likely to score 75.
Chad (5-3, 829) Vs Jimmy (5-3, 974)
Overall series is tied 4-4. Chad won last year 122-121 week 9. Chad has reeled off 5 straight 100+ weeks, going 4-1. He is quitely one of the strongest and most consistent teams in the league, thus the 5-3 record. Not to be outdone, Jimmy has 6 straight 100+ weeks, going 4-2. He could easily be 7-1 right now. Loser of this one is fine at 5-4, but the winner gets a huge step up at 6-3.
Rick (5-3, 812) Vs Randy (6-2, 733)
Rick was on a 3 game streak, winning 3 straight and scoring 100+ 3 straight, until losing last week. He currently leads the Texas division, but Rojo and Chavez are right there at 4-4. Randy is the suprise darling of the league. He currently has the longest winning streak, 4 straight wins, and has done so scoring 100+ only once all season.
Chavez (4-4, 846) Vs Cow (2-6, 736)
Chavez leads the overall series 10-6-1 and has won the last three. Both teams threw out a dud last week, Chavez scoring 71 and Cow scoring 70, both lost. Both teams had won the two previous weeks and had scored 100+ both those weeks. So the question will be, which team bounces back, and if they both bounce back, which team bounces back the highest?
Matt (4-4, 792) Vs Pitch (4-4, 825)
Pitch leads the overall series 3-1 winning the last two. Matt lost a tough one last week to Chad, scoring 116 but still losing. The good news, after 8 weeks he is 4-4 and in good shape. Pitch has lost the last two weeks continuing his up and downs. The good news, after 8 weeks he is 4-4 and in good shape. Is there a big difference between 5-4 and 4-5? Let's ask the loser of this one after this week.
Thomas (1-7, 723) Vs Kurt (4-4, 687)
The bad season continues for Thomas. It seems howevermuch he scores, his opponent scores more. He had 4 100+ weeks but lost them all. Bad luck, I guess. One thing we've learned about Thomas though, he keeps swinging. If he is an easy out, it's not from a lack of effort. Kurt is 4-4 and now apparently has a worthy QB. He has back to back wins and back to back 100+ games. He has a chance to go on a little run here and make some noise.
AD (3-5, 854) Vs Laron (6-2, 891)
A couple of weeks ago, I couldnt wait for this match-up. Now, not so much. Laron has looked mortal, lately, perhaps there are leaks in the dam, or chinks in the armour. After winning his first 6, he has lost the last two weeks, though, he did score 100+ both weeks.
