Preview Week 7

Week 7, the new half-way point... mid-terms, if you will. No team is out of the playoff race yet, though 1-5 looks daunting to say the least. A comeback is not impossible, however, we've seen it before. We've also seen teams start off great and then hit a wall and miss the playoffs. It goes both ways. Weeks 4-10 are for the various bye weeks for the teams, we can tell because of all the scrambling going on... injuries arent helping either.

Let's check in on Division scoring...

Smashmouth - 2,224 pts and an overall record of 11-13
Run-N-Gun - 2,479 pts and an overall record of 11-13
West Coast - 2,593 pts and an overall record of 15-9
Texas - 2,400 pts and an overall record of 11-13

Appears West Coast is leading the way.

On to this weeks preview...(WARNING: there is some foul language)

Bang (2-4, 527) Vs Randy (4-2, 512)

Bang is on a 3 game slide and hasnt scored 100+ since week 2 (his only one of the year). His scoring has been low and his opponent has scored 100+ 5 of the 6 weeks. Randy wins 2, losses 2, and then wins 2. Amazingly... AMAZINGLY, he is 4-2 and has not... NOT broken the 100 mark all... ALL season. This simply fascinates me. If there is such a thing as "playing defense"... Randy does it and does it well. Must win for Bang, 2-5 isnt a death sentence, but you are strapped to the chair.

Cow (1-5, 536) Vs Jimmy (4-2, 734)

The "Kick me in the Jimmy" bowl. I love good match-ups and this should be one. Jimmy leads the overall series 6-4. Cow ended his losing streak last week, as everybody knows. The party has begun to die down in anticipation for this weeks match-up. Unfortuneatly for Cow and his fans, he faces the leagues highest scorer. Jimmy has notched out 734 points in six games(an average of 122.3) and the last four have been 100+ performances. Cow would like to come close to duplicating last year's performance (202-143, week 6) against Jimmy. Imagine the party the Cowfans will throw if he does.

Chad (3-3, 593) Vs Rojo (3-3, 575)

Rojo leads the overall series 7-3 and has won the last three. Chad has quitely scored 100+ three straight weeks, going 2-1 in that span. He has major bye beek concerns, as the Colts are off this week. That means no Addai and no Wayne. He'll need to fill the holes and hope for some production from whoever he decides to put in there. This should be a good week for Rojo, if the pattern holds. W, L, W, L, W, L (141, dud, 126, dud, 118, and dud) That's Rojo's year so far. Every other week Rojo looks like he's unbeatable and every other week he looks like the worst team in the league. Obviously, Rojo is hoping his guys find some consistency.

Rick (4-2, 617) Vs Pitch (4-2, 673)

Rick scored 100+ weeks 1 & 2 and 5 & 6, going 4-0. His two losses, weeks 3 & 4 and he scored below 100, obviously. Rick does catch a break this week, as he doesnt have to face Matt Schaub... he is on a bye. Another break for Rick, Pitch seems to have developed a pattern... L, W, W, L, W, W. I know both teams are 4-2, but they both really need to win this week. It sounds funny, but if Rick wins he'll keep his lead in his division (increase it sizably if Chavez and Rojo both lose), and if Pitch wins, he'll be keeping up with Laron, who is trying to run away with that division. So, a really good match-up this week for both.

Chavez (3-3, 626) Vs Laron (6-0, 663)

So far, Chavez only scores 84 or less... or 116 or more. Nothing in between. Laron is undefeated, but did have his first sub 100 game, in four weeks, last week. 192 (an average of 64) that is the total points scored against Laron the last three weeks, amazing. This match-up has potential rivalry written all over it, as Chavez called and boasted that... " the Big Panties are going to drop this week... that's right... Big Panties, is goin' down". It has taken me several days of recovery, as I damn near laughed myself to death from this. But like I said, it's a rivalry in the making. Look for this to be the match-up of the week.

Matt (3-3, 541) Vs Dustin (4-2, 695)

Dustin leads the overall series 3-2 and has won the last 3. Matt has suffered back to back losses and has not scored 100+ since week 1 (against me, bitch). Dustin, on the other hand, scored 100+ 4 weeks in a row and won all 4 until last week, a loss. This one looks to be lop-sided, but then again, you just never know. If only Dustin had a TE he could trust, after losing Finley for the season last week. Where could he possibly find a good, quality TE for trade? Dustin looks to win career win# 50.

Thomas (1-5, 582) Vs Kyle (2-4, 664)

Thomas has had the damndest luck. He has 4 100+ games and has lost them all. His only win, he scored 84. I know the feeling, the only thing one can do... is keep making moves, keep trying to win. Kyle had a dud last week, scoring 73, but before that, he'd notched 3 120+ games, winning two of them. Must win for both, as they attempt to get back on track.

AD (2-fucking4, fucking 677 points) Vs Kurt (2-4, 481)

723, that's how many points have been scored against me... WTF! The most in the league. That means Kurt is going to have a great week this week. Apparently, I play no defense at all. I'm the D'antoni of our fantasy football league. I lead the overall series 3-1, but I lost to Kurt last year. Actually, Kurt is probably due for some offensive production, as he has not scored 100+ since week 1. Great, looking forward to it. Both teams are 2-4 and really need to win this week. 3-4 is just one win away from .500, while 2-5 is three. I'm a genious.

Good luck this week everyone.
