Week 6 Preview

EARTHQUAKE EDITION: Apparently there was a 4.5 earthquake this morning... I was up, and didnt feel a damn thing. My first earthquake and didnt feel anything.

Also, the Chile rescue: The news coverage is cracking me up. They are trying to make everything such a big deal. I know whats going on is tense, but come on news coverage... you're wearing me out. Good to see those guys making it out ok. one other thing, if you're not from Chile, you dont have to pronounce it like they do. Just say Chile, like the rest of us.

On to football,

Thomas (1-4, 482) Vs Cow (0-5, 425)

Thomas is 0-3 when scoring 100+, 1-1 scoring less than 100. Cow has scored below 80 three weeks in a row and has a 9 game streak he'd like to see go away. Both have some injury and bye week concerns. Loser is one ping pong closer to the Chris Johnson sweepstakes.

Matt (3-2, 485) Vs Laron (5-0, 571)

Matt scored 138 points week 1 (vs me) 99 points week 2, that got him to 2-0. Since then, he's scored in the low 80's (83, 84, 81) and has gone 1-2. So with that being considered, 3-2 aint bad at all. Laron, on the other hand, has scored over 130 (132, 134, 134) for the past three weeks. Considered, by many, to have a weak draft, Laron has made some superb free agent acquistions. With a win this week, Laron gets closer and closer to running away with his division.

AD (2-3, 541) Vs Pitch (2-3, 524)

Both teams are one win away from .500. 2-4 looks way worse than 3-3, but, this early in the year, the loser of this game shouldnt panic. Lose this week and win next week, you're 3-4. Win this week and lose next week, you're 3-4. So this is not a do-or-die or anything like that. That being said, win this week and next, you're 4-3 and life is great. I lead the series 6-4, but Pitch won the only match-up last year (138-88) Notable game: 2006 Championship Game

Chavez (2-3, 510) Vs Kurt (2-3, 509)

Chavez leads series 2-1, but Kurt won last years match-up (137-112, week 8) Same situation as above, loser is 2-4, winner is 3-3. I teased Pitch last week, calling him Hot n Cold, but, perhaps, that distinction would be better applied to Chavez. Through 5 weeks he has scored either 120+ (twice) or below 85 (three times). The VY experience is now officially over. Roethlisberger returns this week and Chavez's team looks just that much better. Kurt's team is actually pretty solid from top to bottom, except at QB. He's still searching and hoping that Stafford can come back and be that guy.

Rick (3-2, 502) Vs Dustin (4-1, 597)

Rick got a nice win last week, scoring 118 after two dud weeks (81 & 63). Now its just about keeping it up. The problem is, he's going to need to keep it up and maybe more this week against Dustin. Dustin's team is a beast. No, make that, a BEAST! Four straight 100+ games and four straight wins. Both teams do have some players with tough match-ups though, so this could be a really good game. With a win, Dustin will notch career win #50.

Chad (2-3, 489) Vs Bang (2-3, 434)

Bang leads this series 11-4. Chad is Bang's bitch! Then again, is there anyone that Chad isnt their bitch, other than Matt? Doesnt that make Matt the bitch's bitch? Bang looks to turn around from the last two weeks, scoring 62 & 73 respectively, both losses. Chad has actually been pretty good the last two weeks, scoring 100+ both weeks, going 1-1. Same thing as above applies here, 2-4=sucks, 3-3=good.

Kyle (2-3, 588) Vs Jimmy (3-2, 598)

Kyle leads this series 6-1. What? It's right. Jimmy won one in 2007 and that's it. Kyle's team is actually pretty good. Undermanaged, but pretty good. He's scored 120+ the last three weeks and trails the current scoring leader (Jimmy) by just 10 points. Jimmy is no slouch, obviously, scoring 100+ 4 out of 5 weeks. Jimmy's team was good, but with the trade for Moss and Harvin, it may just be unstoppable. This one looks to be high scoring.

Los Rojos (3-2, 520) Vs Randy (3-2, 422)

This one looks good for Randy, if Rojo's current pattern continues...(141, 72, 126, 63, 118)... so Rojo should score around 48-52 points this week. Oddly enough, Rojo has W, L, W, L, W. How does one say seesaw in spainsh? After 5 weeks, Randy is the only team to NOT score over 100. Now knowing that, its a freaking miracle he is 3-2. That being said, and I've said it before, you only have to beat the team you are playing... and he's done that 3 times out of 5.

  1. Wow, I didn't realize PeeWee had my #. Maybe I'll get lucky and Rodgers won't go. I am not that lucky though, he will go off for 45.
