Trading Post is still active...

There have been 9 trades so far. So yes, very active year to this point. I wonder if trade activity has been, and will continue to be, spurred on by the number of teams and lack of viable free agents in the free agent pool. If so, that's an unexpected and unintended, yet exciting and satisfying, consequence of expanding the league.
Pending Trade - Jimmy sends Steve Smith WR NYG to Chad for Felix Jones RB DAL
Again, I wont discuss the wisdom here (thank you President Obama) but that's what the comments section is for.

  1. Well, 1st things 1st. Commenting on your own trades is not as fun as it would be if another owner did. I think this site could be an added tool to winning the OFL championship for any owner. It is a chance to give credit to a competitor (sincere or not) for making a good trade, or to demoralize them by ridiculing their move. Last week, I(Raging Bulls)traded away my favorite player Rated R.(Ray Rice) for some depth at wr. Rated R. then procedes to put up 30+ on his next opponent which happened to be me.(insert sad face)

On to the trade at hand: Giving up RB depth for WR depth last week provoked me to give up WR depth for RB depth this week. Now look, I've gone cross eyed. I get a backup RB for a starting WR who is on pace for 205 pts. Obviously, I'm hoping F. Jones is going to get the bulk of the touches the rest of the year. Chad can insert S. Smith(North) into his lineup over Manningham. That may be a good move. Initial reaction is that it will help chad more than it will help me.

  2. With out a doubt it swings in Chad's favor in the short run. He wasnt starting Jones and will plug Smith in immediately. Long term, we'll just have to wait and see. It is quite possible Jones has a huge second half of the season as he overtakes Barber as lead RB. I was worried about Chad when NYG have their bye week, but I looked ahead and its not too bad for him. He'll have to make some moves, but should be ok.
