Playoff Watch Week 14

It's week 14, final week for division play and playoff seeding.


North Division:

Dustin, at 9-4, has the division all tied up with a bow and is locked (pretty much) as the #3 seed. If Jimmy lost and Beas won and Dustin won and outscored Beas by 23 points, Dustin could move into the #2 seed.

No Wild Card possibilities for the others.

East Division:

Welcome to the wild, wild East?

With the big, big win last week, Jimmy controls his own destiny. Win and he owns the division. Lose and he becomes the 1st Wild Card, if Beas wins. If Beas loses, the division is Jimmy's either way.

Jimmy is playing Pitch who needs the win for him to be the 2nd Wild Card. A Pitch loss opens the door, thanks to Adrian's timely Dez Bryant late Monday Night scoring to beat Pitch last night, for Matt, John, or... your's truly (especially me) to sneak in the back door.

So, Jimmy wins the division with a win or a Beas loss. Beas wins the division with a win and a Jimmy loss.

The loser of the division will be the 1st Wild Card no matter what.

Pitch is playing for 2nd Wild Card spot and controls it with a win. If Pitch loses, it gets interesting.

West Division:

Alex, at 12-1, has secured the #1 seed and his first division crown. No worries either way about anything.

Papa has Wild Card possibilities.

South Division:

Matt plays John for the division. Whoever wins, wins. Both are 7-6 and play each other. So, that's easy.

Matt, John, and AD all have Wild Card possibilities.


1st Wild Card Position:

Belongs to either Jimmy or Beas, whoever loses the division.

2nd Wild Card Position:

There is a way (mathematically) for Pitch, Adrian, Papa, Matt, John, and AD to take this spot.

Pitch (7-6) - 1509 points

Wins 2nd Wild Card outright with a win over Jimmy.
If Pitch loses, he holds point lead against everyone except AD, so if AD wins, Pitch needs to outscore AD by 25 points.

Adrian (6-7) - 1255 points

Needs to win and AD & Pitch to lose and outscore Pitch by 255 points. So...could...happen?

Papa (6-7) - 1322 points

Needs to win and AD & Pitch to lose and outscore Pitch by 188 points. So...could...happen?

Matt (7-6) - 1393 points

If Matt loses the division, he'd need AD & Pitch to lose and outscore Pitch by 117 points. So...could...happen?

John (7-6) - 1298 points

If John loses the division, he'd need AD & Pitch to lose and outscore Pitch by 212 points. So...could...happen?

AD (6-7) - 1534 points

Needs to win and Pitch to lose and hold the 24 point lead in points.


We can therefore see that there are really just four real possibilities.

1) Pitch wins against Jimmy and wins the 2nd Wild Card.

2) Pitch loses, AD loses, Pitch wins the 2nd Wild Card

3) Pitch loses, AD wins, Pitch outscores AD by 25 points, Pitch wins the 2nd Wild Card

4) Pitch loses, AD wins, Pitch does not outscore AD by 25 points, AD wins the 2nd Wild Card


That's right folks, I have a chance.

#2 Seed - Jimmy, Beas, Dustin
#3 Seed - Dustin, Beas
#4 Seed - John or Matt
#5 Seed - Jimmy or Beas
#6 Seed - Pitch or AD
