Not quite ready to hang it up, AD was able to overcome a 3.80 on Monday night to steal one from Pulled Pork Mafia, 102.60 to 97.80. A lot of credit has to be attributed to the second-highest score of the week from Drew Brees (37.30). This makes it two in a row for AD against Pulled Pork Mafia. Their last matchup was a 215.47 to 69.30 shellacking in Week 8. Pulled Pork Mafia wrapped up the regular season with a record of 6-8, good for 11th place. When considering points per game, they ranked slightly worse (12th with 99.21). In their only other postseason game of the season, Pulled Pork Mafia demolished $OONER$, 155.70 to 107.52.

Smooth Moves by AD

  • If this was college, Drew Brees would expect to get a sleeve of helmet stickers. He ranked second in the league in scoring this week with 37.30 points. It was also the third-highest score of any player on AD this season.
  • With 8.60 points, Tyler Kroft, who AD picked up this week, beat his 6.70-point projection by 28.4%.
  • Those were the projections? We thought that was the starting point. 5 of the 8 starters on AD exceeded their projected points.
  • The New England Patriots Defense scored 10.00 points and beat their scoring projection by 41.8%, which led the team.
  • Todd Gurley exceeded scoring projections by 41.0%, with 16.20 points against a projected 11.49.

Toyota Roster Tune-up

  • The "nothing" part of Hall or Nothing seems to be confusing people this year. You want the Hall. Go for the Hall.
  • Could've started Caleb Sturgis, who underachieved, but still had more points than the starting K with 6.00 against a projected 7.45.
  • The lowest score by a player for Pulled Pork Mafia this week was 2.20 points from Jason Witten. The score was below his projected points of 11.48, which marks the third straight week where that has happened.
  • It's tough to win when your team leader gets embarrassed like this. At the QB position, Pulled Pork Mafia got outscored 37.30 - 12.70 by AD.
  • You've gotta hit rock button before you can start to rise. It was a season-low 12.70 points for Cam Newton this week. It was also a season-low for his performance versus projections, reaching only 47.1% of a projected point total of 26.95.

What If

  • AD would be 11-4 if they played Pulled Pork Mafia every week.
  • Besides Pulled Pork Mafia, AD would have defeated five other teams this week.
  • AD would be 7-6 if they played the same schedule as Pulled Pork Mafia.
  • AD would be 134-86-1 if they played every team every week.
  • Pulled Pork Mafia would have lost to six other teams besides AD this week.
  • Pulled Pork Mafia would be 3-10 if they played the same schedule as AD.
  • If they played every team every week, Pulled Pork Mafia would be 86-141-1.

Game Notes

  • The 4.80-point margin of victory was the smallest in the league this week.
  • With the win, AD improves to 1-1 in close games this season.
  • With the loss, Pulled Pork Mafia falls to 1-1 in close games this season.
  • AD won while scoring the fewest total points of any winning team in the league this week.
  • Pulled Pork Mafia could not pull out the win, but Frank Gore did perform well with the third-best RB score in the league this week, scoring 23.50 points.
  • In the loss, the St. Louis Rams Defense scored 22.00 points against a projected 7.43 and exceeded their scoring projection by 196.1%.
  • AD might want to see a chiropractor, because they were carrying Brandon LaFell on their back the whole week. He was on the winning team, but only scored 3.80 points against his projected 13.94
