It's gonna be a special one, I think.
Fantasy Football is fun because we compete against our peers & friends. It brings us together, at least once a year, and keeps us connected even though we all live many miles apart and everyone has their own lives to live. But our league is going to evolve slowly with the addition of legacy players. That's going to add another layer or dimension to the competitiveness of the league, hopefully for the better. I fully imagine this is going to be a really fulfilling year for Dustin as he gets to compete against Lane, but make no mistake...Dustin wants to drill Lane into the ground this week and likewise I'd bet.
Let's take a closer look at the match-ups...
QB
Ben Roethlisberger Vs Marcus Mariota
Ben plays the Vikings at home. Ben plays better at home, but the Vikings Def is legit.
Mariota goes against a Jacksonville Defense, that scored 36 fantasy points last week, at their house.
Are Watson or Flacco better options?
As is, Yahoo has both starters projected around 21 points.
WR
T.Y. Hilton Vs Doug Baldwin
Hilton is at home, but playing Peterson and has no QB...yikes
Baldwin is at home and playing SF. He better get his points early.
As is, Yahoo gives Lane a +5
RB
Kareem Hunt Vs Melvin Gordon
Here's a match-up to watch.
Hunt is at home vs Philadelphia Defense
Gordon is at home vs Miami Defense
As is, Yahoo has both just under 16 points, but either, or both, of these guys could go off big.
TE
Greg Olsen Vs Delanie Walker
Olsen is playing at vs Buffalo
Walker is at Jacksonville
As is, Yahoo favors Olsen +4 Olsen can score big, but Lane has the Mariota to Walker combo.
Flex
Pierre Garcon Vs Tedd Ginn Jr.
Garcon at Seattle...ouch
Ginn at home vs New England...ouch...but maybe not? Could be a shootout (Brady vs Brees)
This would have been Garcon Vs Allen Robinson, but no. Ginn could be a really sneaky sleeper.
As is, Yahoo favors Ginn +3
Super Flex
Mark Ingram Vs Martavis Bryant
Ingram is at home vs New England. The Saints RB situation is a little unsolved right now but in a potential shootout, Ingram could score big
Bryant at home vs Minnesota. The Vikings may go all out to stop Antonio Brown leaving Bryant set-up for a big game?
As is, Yahoo favors Bryant +3
K
Graham Gano Vs Carlos Santos
Gano is at home vs Buffalo
Santos is at home vs Philadelphia
Both seem pretty good match-ups for kickers
As is, both are coming in just under 8 points
Defense
Baltimore Vs New York
Baltimore is at home vs Cleveland...finger licking good historically.
Giants play at home vs the red hot Detroit Lions, idk.
Both are great defenses. One is playing a rookie and the other a hot/cold Matthew Stafford.
As is, Yahoo has them both around 12/13 points.
